  • Critiquing: Offering suggestions for improvement, pointing out overall strengths and weaknesses. For fiction, this may include plot problems or inconsistent character actions.

  • Substantive/Structural Editing: Clarifying or reorganizing a manuscript for content and structure. Does not include conducting research or writing original material.

  • Stylistic Editing: Clarifying meaning, eliminating jargon, polishing language, and other non-mechanical line-by-line editing.

  • Copy Editing: Editing for grammar, usage, spelling, punctuation, and other mechanics of style.
Fee: $500
  • Proofreading: Checking proofs of formatted, edited material for adherence to design and for minor, mechanical errors in copy (such as spelling mistakes or typographical errors).
Fee: $500
  • Complete Edit: Critiquing, Substantive/Structural Editing, Stylistic Editing, Copy Editing, and Proofreading.

Fee: $2,500
